Grading System | Averaging


What is a grading system?
The grading system is the process by which educators/teachers/coaches evaluate the performance of the students in exams on the standard particular grading scales which is based on the points entirely and consist of the grades like numeric grade or letter grade.

Two Types of Grading System Used in the Philippines 
1) Cumulative Grading System (Old Curriculum) – the grade of a student in a grading period equals his current grading period grade equals his current grading period grade which is assumed to have the cumulative effects of the previous grading periods
2) Averaging Grading System (Kt o 12)- the grade of the student in a particular grading period equals the average of the grades obtained in the prior grading periods and the current grading period.
