Five Suites of Philippine Folk Dances

Here are the Five Suites Celebrating the colorful ethnic diversity of Filipino culture












Rural Suite are dances that celebrate Philippine rural life.
ex. Pandanggo sa ilaw, Itk-Itik, Maglalatik and Tinikling











Maria Clara Suite are dances adapted from various European influence
since early 16th century.
ex. Habanera De Jovencita, Aray, Pasodoble and Mantones De Seda











Muslim Suite are dances from the islands of Southern Philippines Mindanao.
ex. Kini-kini, Kappa Malong-Malong, Asik and Singkil.











Cordillera Suite are dances from the mountainous region of Northern Philippines.
ex. Idaw, Banga, Salig-silid, and Bumayah-Uyauy











Tribal Suite are dances of Ethnic Pagan origin.
ex. Dugso, Bagobo, Blit-B'laan and Makatod.

Wow! How rich are we in Philippines Culture and Tradition.
