Kuradang Dance

The Kuradang is perhaps considered as Bohol's unofficial national dance because of its popularity and familiarity in the island. Many social gatherings like a wedding feast are said to be incomplete and lifeless without the performance of this vivacious dance which imitates the playful "birig" or courting movements of the aggressive rooster and coy hen.

According to Boholano belief, happy gatering is not truly a happy occasion and seems to be like funeral wake without this dance. There are various verions of the dance in many parts of the Visayas but those of the towns of Sevilla and Loboc are probably the best. The music and dance is a choreographed version of the traditional folk tune with lyrics by Max Surban.

CESAFI 2010 Singing Contest

The Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI) launched its yearly event in sports, cultural and academics. One of the cultural events is Cesafi Singing Contest. The Singing Contest has two categories the vocal solo and vocal duet.

Mostly, this event participated in all private schools in cebu. Recently, the University of Cebu High School Department won in the CESAFI 2010 Singing Contest. Congratulations to the coach and performers Mr. Zennith Rivera UCHS CESAFI coach, Ann Carmel Solon III-Sapphire for winning First Runner-up in (Vocal Solo) and Stephanie King and John Giovanne Solon IV- Orange for winning Champion in (Vocal Duet).

Undeniably, on this special day, there is so much pride in our hearts for you; May this only be the start of a string of great accomplishments! Congratulations!

Perfect Smile

A perfect pair of yellow team got the title and awarded as Mr. and Ms. UC High School 2010 (UCHS). See their oozing charm, beauty, alluring, and enticing red lips as they smile to the crowd.

A time to be thoughtful, a time to be glad, a time for remembering the good times you've had; A time to be hoping that your whole life through will turn out to be happy and successful for you! Congratulations, Lauro Orlando Magno and Danica Mae Mamaril!

Festival Queens

These are the festival queen during the opening ceremony of high school days 2010. They performed the songs One Cebu and Mabuhi Ka Sugbuanon. The third year MAPEH teachers choreographed the presentation.

The festival queens wear different colorful costume and carry the image of Sr. Sto. Niño that gives an opening tale that talks about and promotes the city or province she represents.

Sayawit Performers

Recently, the University of Cebu (UC) celebrates high schools days with the theme “Moving towards Excellence”. The event consists of three different categories academic events, cultural events and sports events.

In the Cultural Event, the yellow tiger team won as champion in the sayawit competition last Thursday October 21, 2010 at UC Activity Center.

Congrats, Sayawit Perfomers! Keep up the good work!!!
