Parts of Flute

Parts of flute or bamboo recorder are namely:
  • Beak (or mouthpiece) - the part of the recorder you put between your lips (the top part of the head joint).
  • Double holes - Tone holes that have two separate holes.
  • Foot joint - the bottom part of the recorder; it has the bottom finger hole (a double hole) and is turned slightly to the side.
  • Head joint - the top part of the recorder, the part you blow into.
  • Lip - the sharp edge abutting the window; air from the wind way hits the labium and produces sound. Never touch this part of the recorder - it can warp.
  • Middle section (or barrel) - the middle part of the recorder; it has most of the finger holes.
  • Ramp - the gradual incline that leads to the window (in the head joint).
  • Tone hole (or finger hole) - Holes that are covered and uncovered by the fingers to change the note played.
  • Window - the rectangular hole in the mouthpiece.

i actually wanted very much to play the flute..
but unfortunately, no more hope for me..
it's not because i don't know how to
but because my fingers aren't suitable for that kind of instrument...
i wanted to learn how to play a handy instrument so that i can take it anywhere i am and can play music everywhere i go...

honestly, i know how to use and play flute..i have my own flute, my auntie gave it to me so that i can improve my talents well...but, this days, i haven't played my flute as well as when i am in elementary because when i am still in elementary, we have a rondalla and a choir, as a member, i played instruments as banduria, laud, oktabina, flute, and sometimes guitar..my auntie as one of our trainors, taught us how to play instruments..
