Do you still remember this song...?
Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree
It's been three long years, do you still want me
If I don't see a ribbon round the old oak tree
I'll stay on the bus, forget about us, put the blame on me
If I don't see a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree.
Here in Philippines, It’s not on an old oak tree but on rear side of vehicles.
This yellow ribbon symbolizes a new color of courage(Pres. Corazon Aquino).

I remember. Actually, here in the US ribbons have become a prominent way of advertising a cause: yellow, pink, blue, each has its own meaning. I'm getting a little tired of ribbons...

ReplyDeleteI always liked that song. Still do but don't hear it much.
ReplyDeleteYes, I remember the song, "Tie a Yellow ribbon round the old oak tree", by Tony Orlando I believe. Those were great times when for a majority of the songs one could understand all of the words. Very thoughtful to display the cust of yellow ribbon on the cars in the Phillipines.
